WOODHALL SPA U3A Gardening Group  -  2017 programme

January 13th

Hanging baskets, window boxes and containers'  Watch this DVD supplied by the U3A Resource Centre.

February 10th

Speaker  Neil Timms from the Fern Nursery at Binbrook will give a talk     entitled "Basic Pruning Techniques"

March 10th

Easton Walled Gardens  12 acres set in parkland, this 16th century garden has been restored over the last 15 years. We aim to arrive at 12.30 for lunch/picnic following a short talk about the garden restoration.

April 9th

Doddington Hall Gardens  (PLEASE NOTE this is a SUNDAY) 5 acres of walled and wild gardens and walled kitchen garden

May 12th

Firsby Manor, Spilsby  3 acre garden surrounding a Georgian farmhouse, especially lovely in late spring with daffodils, tulips and bluebells.

June 9th

Brightwater Gardens, Saxby 8 acres with perennials, prairie planting, wildflower meadows, lake and arboretum.

July 14th

Mill Farm Grasby  Another visit to this lovely garden at (hopefully!!) a warmer time of the year.

August 11th

Aubourn Hall, Aubourn, Lincoln  Last visited in spring 2013, 8 acres with rose garden, mixed borders, ponds and prairie planting.

September 8th

The Old Vicarage, Holbeach Hurn  This 2 acre garden is managed environmentally; roses, herbaceous beds, shrubs and herb garden together with 150 year old tulip, plane and beech trees.

October 13th

Hubbards Hills  A walk to enjoy the autumn colours. Tea in Louth (to be finalised)

November 10th

Brigg Garden Centre

December 8th

Festive Meeting

In general, meetings from October through to March will be led by Brian and Jacqui,  and meetings from April through to September will be led by Pam and Lynn.
